Here is a a unique list/linking to the manufactures websites with the most up to date information available on each camera system.

These are only the newest cameras they offer, so don't be surprised if an older model is what you can afford to rent.  Most cameras, like all upgrades, are only minor tweaks to an excellent product.

By far the DVX100 series has been one of the most popular systems around for filmmakers but the HVX200 has really made a quick impact.  Below is a list of all professional systems being offered by Panasonic.

Canon's XL series offers a host of lenses and accessories to that allow an endless choice of options.  An adapter that allows the use of 35mm Prime lenses is not cheap, but works amazingly well.
