The big question is how much should I charge? The answer depends on several things such as.
1. How new and desired is your equipment.
2. How many extras do you have that come with it.
3. What will the market bear.
If you have a brand new Panasonic HVX 200 with several P2 cards and readers etc., along with tripod, extra batteries and lense adapters you can probably charge a premium.
However, if say you live in Los Angeles and several different camera rental places offer the same package for less then you, then it might not rent for your rate. If you live in Moscow, Ohio and the nearest camera rental house is several states away, then you can charge a bigger premium.
Bottom line is you can charge whatever you want, but if it's not renting at your rates then you might want to rethink them. I would suggest checking the going rate at camera houses in LA or NYC and then adjust accordingly.
